because the groups instruments doesnt meld as one force of vibrations, the vocals throw off the balance and make it seem more commercial and less genuine

I wouldn't complain that the vocals are dominating and too clear, that's a great aspect of this album. In fact, that's a perfect "fuck you" for people who say that you can't understand what screaming / growling vocalists say.
I do, however, find the vocals on this to lack diversity. Karl is a powerful vocalist, but he needs to step outside of his comfort zone a bit
