Wouldn't it have been a co-headline kind of deal anyway? As a huge fan of both bands I imagine Converge leading into Neurosis might work better, although when considering the quality of both bands output, it's essentially a draw. Difficult to compare.

I can never see the strangely phallic album art and not think of 'Converge are about to put The D in Us' now and as such can't take this album seriously

It's ok Doof, if you want 'accessible' Converge check AtF and/or AWLWLB and if you've already done that then just call it a day.

They're a 3-3.5 sort of band for me.
Bit like Neurosis are.
Or Baroness.
They're solid bands but just not what I'm looking to listen to for 99% of the time.

This depresses me Doof, not because you consider two of my favourite bands at a 3-3.5 level (just not your 'go to' genre(s), that's fine), but because you think Baroness are somehow of comparable quality.

Well, only Neurosis have a Doof 4 rating and I’d definitely say they’re my favourite band of those three if that helps.
3.5 is what I consider as the first high rating - I consider a 3.5 as ‘excellent’ rather than ‘great’, that’s my RYM system and it carries over to here. I don’t need as many ‘poor quality’ distinctions - ‘poor’ starts at 1.5, ‘average in a boring/negative way’ is my 2 rating.
So maybe read that 3.5 assessment as a 4 lol - they’re excellent at what they do but they don’t get the ‘high rotation’ 4 grade

Baroness, they sadly get a bit more rotation from me for whatever reason - so they just get into the 3.5 bracket most of the time

I get were Doof comes and his explanation in terms of what he looks for in music, but comparing Converge and Neurosis to Baroness is criminal.

They played Forsaken and Drop Out, best night ever.

Maybe Baroness are a 3.3, Converge a 3.5 and Neurosis a 3.7 ha ha
Just three bands I always seem to be 3.5’ing their albums

Unfortunately not, hardly any riffs on that one :[

Pretty sure they could pull it off with hard riffing and singing more or less like this:WRAAAHHPY WRAAA WRAAA WRRAAAAA PLEAAAAB!!!

B side on the new album, hopefully.

I can live with this amendment. You enjoy whatever you enjoy, it's just a (potentially) touchy subject given that Baroness aren't particularly innovative or influential, whereas the other two are about as important as underground 'heavy bands' get.

Forsaken is a great track but I’m surprised they played that out of all the old tracks they have. I would’ve expected Saddest Day, WFCC, hell, the majority of their older tracks before that one
Good tune tho

Theyre probably bored shitless of playing the saddest day for about 20 years.
Foresaken is a great track.

@BigPleb
Unfortunately I'm on night shifts at the moment so I couldn't go to the London show. Hopefully I get a chance to see them play Homewrecker live some day. The new albums are pretty solid as well; it's a remarkably consistent career given how long they've been around.
