Yeah some of the guitar parts are deliciously easy to play.

Funny thing, I can play Opeth on the guitar, and I am a b a d guitarist who just happened to learn the tabs by heart. I really practiced those songs (Blackwater Park, Grand Conjuration, I Feel the Dark and Harlequin Forest were my favourites), but I didn't even know what scale I was playing.

Only love, Egarran

I remember one of the best discussions I ever had on this topic. I said to a guy, ''I don't know how to play the guitar. I'm like Jackie Chan in his movies. He memorizes the english dialogue, but he isn't fluent in English. That's my problem, too.'', to which he responds without batting an eye ''So you aren't fluent in English as well?''

I’m often disappointed with stuff labelled as ‘Opethian’ but this Orphaned Land album I’m digging is hitting the spot right now.

Going to check that too Demon, I've seen their name mentioned so many times but never looked into them. This seems like a good time!

Some of the progressions are definitely reminiscent, to me at least. The Jewish folk segments are cool, give it a unique flavour.

Mabool was one of the most overrated albums on the internet back in the day, but now that the hype is gone I can enjoy it for what it is, basically a pretty good album. The followup was pretty bad

This awesome piece of metal just turned 15 recently. (August 29, 2020) I have only known of it for 6 of those years but goddamn all of those years i didn't. A fine piece of metal and a stellar composition in general, a bright spot for metal in the lean 2000's!
