This place would be way better if everyone understood that Mongi. This and Animals are general considered to be their best, so you might like this.

If you dig Animals, I can almost promise you you'll enjoy this. Its like her fraternal twin sister just with meatier bookends and a shorter trio of songs in between

dark side explain complexity of life and the fragile mind attempting to cope, and sometimes failing

wywh is longing for those who failed using a specific case in syd (and using the pressures of fame as a main cause of meltdown)

bit harsh to say that syd 'failed' ??

failed to cope

and nah it's def the truth

becoming a recluse for the rest of your life is the ultimate refusal to cope

interesting theory

i've read and heard that he was quite happy in his life tho like he would still get out and about he just wanted a simple life and nothing to do with fame or w/e

hard to know for sure exactly what went on though idk

he might have been happy, but he was so out there that he couldn't communicate with people on a normal playing field, nor could he cope with the normal day-to-day and would thus virtually do nothing but sit in his flat

eventually as he got old he was more capable of the day-to-day but i guess he lived with his mother until she died and after that his sister would check on him daily

all that may just have been his happy, rational choosing, but it sounds quite paranoid to me.

(i find syd incredibly interesting so i've read about him quite a bit)

Too much acid was the trigger. He coped better than others considering the amounts he was probably whacking back

"becoming a recluse for the rest of your life is the ultimate refusal to cope"

You don't know what you're talking about. Many wise men renounce themselves from the rest of the world... when you finally see how ridiculously stupid most people are. I'm not claiming syd was a sage or anything,

but you're statement was way over-generalzed. Of course some recluses are just running away without productive inquiry. But not all of them.

Yea, it almost seems like the more you understand life, the less you desire to be out in social situations.

As most people want to talk bullshit and it just starts to sound like noise... not all social interactions are fruitless though.
