"Also, Metallica certainly evolved into masterful songwriters. I don't know if everyone would say that all their work demonstrates that trait, but I checked out Death Magnetic again one or two days ago, listening to it somewhat carefully, and I noticed that Cyanide flows really really well. Same for All Nightmare Long and The Day That Never Comes, the latter of which is fantastic for a track that's essentially blatant One worship. A few songs don't flow that well, but those all do."

I actually quite like Death Magnetic. Some songs go too long I suppose, the production is annoying, and the band sounds old but bloody hell I enjoy it.

Leper Messiah and Eye of the Beholder are among their most underrated

Frayed Ends rules hard, but Eye of The Beholder is certainly the worst song on AJFA, followed by The Shortest Straw. I'm not saying they're bad songs, just weaker than the others. I mean, every other song is pretty much perfect there. it's the same thing here with Escape and Trapped Under Ice. that's what separates MoP from RTL and AJFA, for me at least.

Creeping Death is like a thrash version of Diamond Head with all the awesome riffs in one song.

Oh yes, certainly. I like Eye of the Beholder a lot, whereas Shortest Straw has always clearly been the weakest track on the album.

these songs just never get old

Indeed they do not.

"Shortest Straw" demonstrates Metallica's ability in time sig rotations so that makes it cool

Perhaps it'd be wise to discuss ...And Justice on the AJFA board?
