the black album is metallica playing on autopilot. generic riffs and generic lyrics about, like, nightmares and hiking and werewolves or something. load has worse low points but the high points are so, so much higher. s/t has NOTHING as thought-provoking as "outlaw torn" or "bleeding me". i'll take good alt-rock over lame thrash any day. i'll venmo you $100 if you prove me wrong.
