The lyrics on this are sweet but the way it's composed is just beyond what I expected it's amazing.

I would say DANGERDOOM is another great entry point for hip hop beginngers.

I'd also recommend Ugly Duckling ('Journey to Anywhere' LP) - it's about as far from 'cool' and Madvillainy as you can get, but it's good old school type shit.

Aquemini is also an amazing entry imo. Anything from OutKast really, but that one is GOAT.

I haven't watched Fantano's list yet and want to keep spoiler free. But I'm guessing it's going to be JJ last and this first, which is going to trigger me... and if DANGERDOOM is anywhere near the bottom I'll start to feel emotions

That jazzy detour in Money Folder is brilliant. Love the way it comes in out of nowhere and goes on long enough to feel like "Hmm guess this is where this song is going now" only to flip back to the actual song before it gets stale.

took me fucking long enough, holy shit this is amazing. also very very captivating, adore Figaro. the skits are a tiiiiiny bit overbearing, wish there was a bit more fleshed out rap songs but its hard to fault the purposeful formlessness
