It's not because of them being depressing, I wish they would, but I find their music uninteresting and it doesn't connect with me. To be very harsh and honest, it bores me. It does nothing.

NP that's still younger than Åkerfeldt.

I already like this more than Orchid. Production is better (mostly in that the bass is very audible and the playing is great) but the tracks still suffer from awkward transitions and their overlong nature. To Bid You Farewell is really great though. Right now, i'm somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4

This is actually a 5.5, I'm just still working on unlocking that hidden feature.
Re Agalloch: Do you not even like Marrow Trifo? I thought you'd be all over that one.

Reading about people in the past is always tragic, because it's implied that they didn't know this album.

None of their records really appealed to me (haven't checked the debut yet), but that one was the 'best one' for sure, have it as a meagre 3.0 right now.

One day I will learn to like The mantle.
I love the new Falls of Rauros and every review mentions Agalloch and it's slightly frustrating. So it may not be for me, but I basically can't join any nature bm conversation in this state.

Glad you feel the same way about that one Egarran. Don't really know what it is but it doesn't do anything for me.

"This is their best, but he gives it a 3.5. Sounds about right"
Opeth is not for me, I can't connect with their music. But I've enjoyed the totallity of this album for sure, therefor my rating.
