“SAW isnt even RDJ's best but it’s definitely on the shortlist of greatest of all time IDM and to say differently is just edgy internet contrarianism.”

This depends if you have the ability to separate historical importance and enjoyment, otherwise we end up seeing absolute nonsense such as ‘objectivity’ being brought into the equation

it really doesnt. xtal, tha, pulsewidth, ageispolis, green calx, heliosphan, we are the music makers, ptolemy, every single one of those are timeless classic tunes that continue to stand the test of time. it wouldnt be one of the highest rated, almost universally lauded electronic albums if that werent the case.

again, they say theres no accounting for taste.

it is one of the most important, but I also find myself really enjoying the writing RDJ did on that, that, SAWII and drukqs all are classics

like i said, its not even his best but its still a classic no matter how you square it.

drukqs is far and away his best and one of the all time great albums period. the only one that isnt really that good is RDJ album but i see why people like it.

the reason these guys, autechre, and rdj are considered the "kings" of idm because they really are the best of the best.

spoken with enough conviction to take me back to the good ol days of the internet being small enough for the five tosspots on it to share the same take on everything

now where's that Cosmogramma discourse at now that we need it

hey id rather be lumped in with 5 tosspots with the correct opinion instead of posting snarky ironic comments on a dying message board about music i only started listening to in earnest less than a year ago.
