Been listening to the new one all day, while AF 1 is more cohesive AF 2 actually has some of their best songs to date IMO. I would put Where Are We Now?, My Instincts Are The Enemy and Born To Lose over some songs on the debut album.

I've heard some good stuff about some songs on the new record, but the lead single is my least favorite Kinsella song of all. I'm either too nervous or disinterested to bother with the leak.

I don't know why my rating is so low. I think it's just because I don't like the vocals, and it's hard to enjoy an album at all if you flat-out don't like the vocals. If I did then I'm sure my rating would be astronomically higher. I never had an issue with the music itself -- most of it is quite lovely.
From the two songs already released of the new album, his voice seems more controlled these days, so I'm quite looking forward to checking it out.

Just don't go into the new album thinking it's some 17 years in the making masterpiece that will surpass the debut in every way, it's a band that wrote some songs over the past year cause it was fun. It's a real nice, chilled listen throughout. There isn't really a song I dislike but it is a bit all over the place in terms of quality for me. I've Been Lost is actually one of my faves despite everyone seeming to hate it.
