yeah if you’re looking at the band’s trajectory this really feels like it should’ve been between Around the Fur and White Pony. Feels like a step backward for them even if I love a lot of it

I wasn’t around for it (I was like 6 lol) but listening to their discog in order is jarring af when it comes to this record. This feels like an extension of Adrenaline-ATF and Saturday Night Wrist feels like a perfect follow up to White Pony.

This album hit pretty hard when it was released, and made a lot more people, Deftones fans. My childhood friend didn't even like this type of music, we go to his house the week it was released, and he goes "You hear this new Deftones album??"
Seeing the CD on his dresser almost made me pass out. There is just something about the mood on this album that scratches the right itch; I never skip a track.
