I would advise strongly against moving there unless you want to have the same experiences as New York. you'll likely never own a home unless you're good with 750k +. but thats the literal "Bay Area". there are other less expensive areas outside of the bay but not many. if you do move you must stop by and say hello to me your uncle

I really dislike "control freak" libs and coastal progressives who basically implement roundabout-ly regressive policies that hurt the economic prospects of California's large poor minority communities. Especially Mexicans.
Here in Cali, you basically get finessed out of 25% of your income (payroll taxes, sales taxes, excise taxes) before you even file a tax return. At least that's what it amounted to when I worked minimum wage jobs in college.
