lol I was also trying to squeeze in a few others. Syndic Calls was up there for my second list, by the way. Awesome song.

Dulcinea, Garden of Light, In Fiction, So Did We, Ghost Key would be mine in no order. Syndic Calls and 20 Minutes/40 Years would be runner-ups.

Ghost Key is awesome. I love the catchy intro and the more spacey/melodic parts in the middle and near the end of the song, but I wish it had a stronger climax at the end. I'm conflicted with that one.

imo it has one of their best climaxes, especially if you listen in context of the lyrics (apparently about 2 people dying in the cold after failing to create a fire) the guitar crescendo and his growls are a perfect way to end it for me

Wait, it’s super obvious if you read the lyrics. I’m so used to seeing their writing as really abstract poetry

Yeah and the grim reaper comes to collect their souls. They might’ve been in love or something, there are different ways to read some of the lines.

How this can be worse than Oceanic or Panopticon, this site is mad.

Because influence, mostly. Those albums are monoliths that created post-metal, while this is an excellent entry that built upon the genre.
