You have to pronounce the title with a swa sound for the sword bit - as in swa for swish

Liquid sw-ords to the mid section

Ya but technically wutang wasn't his musical debut, he had an unsuccessful fly rap album before this. Imagine being 29 when you drop your first rap classic. That's like 37 in rapper years

add ironman to that convo too. that one is full of straight heat. rza was on point from 94-97 and gfk is arguably the best rapper in the group

GZA is the best lyricist but Ghostface has so many more flows and more energy

ya i think people are free to choose between any of the mid 90 debuts and the clan's debut as their favorite and it won't bother me

my fav rapper in wu is rza (i just love tracks like wu gambinos where he just goes off) but ghostface is a far better solo artist and has a higher and most consistent skill level. lyrically tied with deck and gza, but not in the dense lines of gza or the punch lines of deck, but more so storytelling songs and cool blaxploitation movie shit haha

"Scratched supreme clientele, my cartel

Willie Stargel passed this shit his piece, where's the Nobel?

people underrate Ghostface as a storyteller. Shakey Dog and Alex are as vivid as any I have heard

His voice gets annoying sometimes though, not to mention some gibberish lyrics every now and then

I can't think of any of his lyrics that don't have at least some relevance to the song. even if he's just talking shit he never goes fully into tenuously connected noises the way ODB and Raekwon sometimes do

I get the voice thing tho for sure

Only Ghostface I've heard is Ironman. It's good but it's no Liquid Swords that's for sure
