Don't get me wrong. Anathema is amazing, but PT is my fav.

It's close but PT are slightly better even if anathema are more diverse and have had an amazing evolution. Both bands could improve their lyrics though

PT VS Anathema? Is this a thing now?

@TalonsOf Fire I believe PT are pretty diverse. The could be divided into, what? 3 at least periods?
|

So could Anathema.

Anathema work better as a band, they've evolved their sound brilliantly and they overall vibes they give off in each album is spot on with the atmosphere and production
SW tends to overproduce the newer stuff (from what I've heard of it), sometimes his writing style comes off as forced for the sake of prog or uniqueness rather then what sounds good, and even the best PT albums can't hold a candle to Judgement, A4 or WHBWH
IMO

True Myth but PT never went from death/doom to uplifting prog. Anathema completely changed genres, pretty successfully too
