Rodgers gets hurt 4 plays in (Season ending ACL). The Jets win in OT after Josh Allen threw 3 picks Rex Grossman style and buttfumbled against the buttfumble. Oh and the Jets won on a Punt return TD. Totally normal MNF game.

Not ACL, but Achilles. That's just as bad though, season is likely over if that's true.
Wow. Great win for the Jets, but what a fucking way to start the year...

A game won by mediocre-to-bad offense and a lights-out defensive performance. Somewhere, Rex Ryan shed a tear.

I actually enjoy the fact it can still happen, generally speaking
For all the changes in the game, leading towards a more pass-centric league built around star QBs and the potential for shootouts, we still often see a few of these per week. Now, some are definitely due to the ineptitude of certain offences / bad QB play etc. but it's nice to know defences still matter and certain teams are competitive even without those offensive explosions

I think I talked about it on Discord with some folks, but there WAS a noticeable decrease in DPI calls last year, which coincided with the rise of CBs like Sauce Gardner who have a more physical style. Might indicate a trend that the NFL is giving leniency to defenses again.

AFC East defenses are actually insane - Miami's started off slow but looked powerful at the end of their game.
Zach Wilson is not long for this world behind that OLine though, dude did a 20 yard run behind the LOS in classic fashion.
I actually think that with the recent developments, the Patriots actually have a shot at the division.

Zach is not long for being an NFL QB in general dude is dogwater
sucks about Aaron tho, feel bad for Jets fans. i thought we had it bad with injuries but at least we still have Lamar. all that hyped crushed after a couple plays wroof

"Not ACL, but Achilles. That's just as bad though, season is likely over if that's true."
'Tis true. Also Achilles tear is definitely a worse injury than ACL. It is often a career ender, and those who come back from it are rarely the same. ACL surgery has come a long way over the years and complete ACL tear recovery is much more likely than Achilles at this point. Would not be remotely surprised if Rodgers walks away.

Falcons are about what I expected. One QB away from being a legitimate threat. Can see them being really annoying and stealing some wins against quality opponents this year.
|
| |
yeah def worse than ACL these days though i think a QB suffering an Achilles injury is less impactful than RB, DB or WR but it's a long road to recovery and for a dude who was already contemplating hanging em up i can see it happening

ACL recovery is actually insane nowadays. I wonder if that same catch-up will occur with Achilles. It's definitely a benefit to Rodgers' style that he doesn't rely too much on mobility nowadays, I think he has too much pride to let this be how his career ends up. Also has money to make next year if he keeps trucking lol

I can also confirm that last night was *sooooooo* much fun on discord after Rodgers got injured. Not to mention the day on which it happened so double the fun.

Look at Sean McVay covering the spread…
Otherwise, is it wrong for me to say that the Rams look way better than I possibly expected them to?
Also Puka Nakua wtf…
