Sorry about that Koris, we'll find each other on another thread

Heritage to me still sounds like an Opeth album for the most part, something I can't say for any of the consecutive releases. Too much 70s worship and as a result they started to sound very much directionless. I'm glad they seem to be BACK with the new one

Yeah PC is really where they drifted into blatant worship of mikael's influences. Heritage still sounds mostly like an opeth album except for slither

Plus we know from interviews that Mendez really wanted Heritage to happen. He felt disappointed with the initial idea to go with something in the vein of Watershed.

Really like the Berlin school influences on the opening track

Listened to this in full after quite some time. A decent effort, but Continuum and All Things Will Pass save the shit out of this thing.

I disagree with you pal. It's a much more than a decent effort. Beyond "Continuum" and "All Things Will Pass", there are many other things to do so. Pratically the all album.

yeah Heritage was the last real Opeth record in spirit, if not in sound

I'm sorry too. I still disagree. This is probably the best thing since "Watershed".

Fair enough e bro. My favorite since Watershed is easily Pale Communion followed by this one. Don't care much for Heritage despite its popularity.

I agree with you, Titan my mate. My favourite albums since "Watershed" are "Pale Communion" and this one. I din't dislike "Heritage", but it's my least favourite since "Watershed". However, some times I have some doubts about my favourite since "Heritage," "Pale Communion" or "In Cauda Venenum". Actually I love both in its singularity.

I just bumped up my rating to 3.5 as well. I'm enjoying this more today than I did upon its release.

Nice. Maybe with time you can bump it even more. It think it deserves so.

Titan, PC has been doing for me what this is doing for you right now. Happy about it too!

I feel like that's been the case for a lot of people. Hell, I had this at a 3.5 when it first came out, and now it's up there with my favorite Opeth records
