2.5 is a pretty high rating for this if it made you laugh

The album itself didn't make me laugh, I found it funny that people liked so much and album that I consider pretty damn "meh".

Cosmology is a lot more fun than this on first listen

It's kinda the opposite end to this tbh - this gets acclaim for refining all the band's quirks and complexities into polished songs, Cosmology is more a case of them trying out new things after learning from their v erratic debut and getting a surprising amount of things right. It's defo fresher despite being however many years older, and the last two tracks alone are worth a listen
