This could never match the intensity of No Heroes, just feel like it’s too mellow and by-the-numbers for a Converge album, save for a couple of intriguing moments.

Arkhipov Calm is more vicious than anything on No Heroes...

Honestly I Can Tell You About Pain is too

Remember how they released Eve which was on par with the best material they've ever written and then released this and everyone moved on a few months later?

I fucking love Wildlife too, Converge actually managed to make a song with a catchy chorus.

Arkhipov Calm, Single Tear, Cannibals and Broken By Light are my favourites here.

Thousand Miles is probably the dullest song ever by Converge on the flip side.

That last minute though man. It’s all build up beforehand but Jacob is fucking amazing in that last minute of the song.

Not my favorite track here by any means, but I still really dig it

Admittedly I like ‘A Single Tear’ as well, even if it’s just a lesser Aimless Arrow (sort of).

This has grown to be my favourite Converge since No Heroes, and I find it to be slightly better honestly. It doesn't do anything new or different for sure, but honestly, the band has largely stuck to their guns since You Fail Me, and that's not a problem at all in my eyes.

Axe to Fall largely sounds nothing like YFM or this, that tells me they’ve done more than simply stick to their guns. Yes, this isn’t a major departure from AWLWLB & although there are nods to past material elsewhere, it offers nothing truely new, for me. I would never listen to this over AWLWLB, hence my rating.

I agree but still think that Axe to Fall and especially AWLWLB are better

Axe to Fall is a perfect album and Converge's crowning achievement.
