In my top 3 Deftones for sure. Perhaps their most underrated record along with SNW.

certainly doesn't get nearly as much praise as WP and the "revival" of DE and KNY.

Truly, this and SNW are the forgotten (as much as any multi-million records selling band can be) era of the band.

Half these songs are way better than the other half for me.



'Hexagram', 'Telephone' and 'Bloody Cape' are all top 20 Deftones tunes though, maybe I'd even put all three in their top 10 songs...



'Minerva' and 'Needles' are also decent...the rest is relatively snoozy, maybe even bland at times. Feels a bit half baked and transitional as a complete package, certainly did at the time, maybe less so now, could do a full revisit.

Revisiting Battle-axe and I dig the instrumental a lot but not my favourite work from Chino gotta say. Outside the ones I mentioned I'd put 'Deathblow' as about equal with it but it's definitely better than the the two last songs and 'Lucky You'.
