the ultimate question of if your rating should reflect the opinion you had when the album was released or how you would feel about actually forcing yourself to listen to it fifteen years later.
and i'm not interested enough to do it.

I can go years without listening to RATM's music. Then the mood will strike me out of the blue and I'll go back to this and it'll knock my socks off. Then a week later I'll move on. Only to return again in a few years.

This is good but the sound gets old very quickly so it’s hard to stomach all at once.

I'm sorry, and I know these guys have rebutted this argument before, but I still will always find it hypocritical of them to make a large corporation money by selling albums for them. It's completely ridiculous like it's about as corporate as it gets.
They argue that it's some inside thing like they are using the system in place to put their message out there but at the end of the day the corporation profits from the records being sold and that allows the shady record label execs and music industry to prosper which is a bad thing. It's a business, the music industry, and this band are businessmen, essentially.
The band could have found a more honest label with integrity that was big enough to get their message out with sucking industry dick. There are plenty of large labels out there that are decent but these guys signed to one of the worst. They literally feed the machine they claim they hate.

I agree with you Eons. On top of that I personally don't agree with all of their politics, and tbh it was a bit much to see them go on an extended rant before the breakdown of Killing In The Name Of when I saw them live but on a music level this gets me going real hard.
