well for starters I’m a Pelican fan, sir

and two. the songs sound sludgier and meatier on Forever Becoming, and the last two tracks there are some of their best ever.

all of their records have their strengths. What We All has Final Breath, Glimmer, and the t/t, glorious songs.

Forever Becoming is ok. Some good songs here & there but as a whole felt like an identity crisis album to me and it sort of shows (lineup change w/Laurent out of the band for good & Dallas joining in rather late in the album writing) but the follow up Nighttime Stories is a REALLY good album.

^ If you’re taking about me, then IDK cause I’ve always had the Acme name since I joined a few years ago lol.

I do find the 2019 remix of Forever Becoming pretty good sounding in spite of my feelings about the songwriting. Seeing them last year though, those songs translate much better live.

It’s on Bandcamp. Apparently the band were never happy w/the original and when Southern Lord repressed it on vinyl last year the opportunity arose for them to remix the album and IMO it’s sonically up to par w/Nighttime Stories.

This is just as amazing as the first time, maybe even more so. Now that they've remastered it I can't of a single thing I would change.
