Outlaw is top 5 Metallica and Bleeding Me is top 10.

Mop is great obvs but it's probably my least fave of the first four lol, just barely. At that point it's like picking between diamonds, gold, and silver; you'll get rich either way so who cares which is best

Ten times out of Ten I'd pick Load over MoP if you told me I could only have one.

load would be better for sure if you replaced the worst 5 songs with the best 5 songs on reload.

I remember listening to this when I was 14 and feeling like it was a totally separate thing from 80s Metallica. James' voice sounded so different to me and the whole vibe felt like it was a new kind of thing.

I'm starting to view it differently now, though. It's starting to sound more like an album that came after AJFA to me

Interesting, I see it as a natural progression as well. It's like the transitional album from the thrash of AJFA to what ever Load/ReLoad was.

It's also weird, how this is a very safe, but also new for them in a way? Some of their best songs, but overall a little too samey. It was the shit when I got into 'tallica, but it grew off me a fair bit

MoP is far from perfect. It's quite boring actually. Justice and Ride all the way.

My ranking these days would be: MoP > AJFA > Ride > Kill > Death Magnetic > Hardwired > Black Album > Load > St. Anger > ReLoad

Mh, MoP isn't bad or anything imo, it's just not as good or interesting as people always claim imo. It's a hard 3.5 for me

Transitional album is right. I always felt that there was a missing link between this and AJFA, I guess, but I'm starting to feel like that's not really the case.

Anyway, a lot of the songs towards the back end are better than I gave them credit for. The God that Failed and My Friend of Misery are actually pretty sick

Yep, these two are pretty awesome. I wished My Friend of Misery became the instrumental it was intended as though. Still a good song though
