i think they just try too hard to be "progressive" at times. Like the ancient covenant is pretty awesome but it loses its momentum at times due to nonsensical passages

This is their best in my opinion. I felt like autotheism was The Faceless trying to go a bit mainstream if you guys understand what I mean, you know with the clean singing and all that. Akeldama is great for being their first album but this shit blows that album out of the 7 seas. I was a bit dissapointed with autotheism knowing that this came out beforehand. First 3 movements were cool but after accelerated evolution that shit goes downhill.
