Chill, my point is that anyone acting like there is some huge new revelation is here is being dramatic. The article was a tough read and I feel terrible for the girl, but it just reconfirms the same behavior we’ve known about for the past 7 years. Jesse published a non-descript apology. Never served any time. And the article reveals he never made any attempt at amends with the victims.

Not every article has to be some earth-shattering revelation (I don't even know what would meet that criteria with him in particular at present considering he's already about as bad as you can get), but that's still a far cry from a "nothing burger"

It’s not a normal thing we should “just accept” - but again, the alleged events were 15-20 years ago and we’ve known about it for 7 years. There’s nothing surprising about this story. Despite being creepy, this instance was a strictly platonic relationship where he literally never committed any form of assault or even so much as put his hands on her. There are genuine rapists out there still making music, can we aim our vitriol that direction instead maybe??



More importantly, since you asked about rehabilitation, the guy sought out treatment and therapy for years prior to the wrongdoing even becoming public knowledge. In an age where most of these psychopaths victim shame and never even admit their own wrongdoing in the first place, this guy was not defensive at all and quickly came out to confirm the rumors were true, was proactively in treatment long before that moment, and then completely disappeared for 7 years because that’s what people wanted. Those are literally all of the things we ask predators to do. If these steps didn’t satisfy anyone, then nothing will. Let the man live his life already. Eternal exile is some boomer shit, I don’t believe in that.

He never owned up to what he did to the public, but more importantly to his victims. This is the accountability part. He did the part that he needs to with himself, but never did the actual hard and humbling part. This article literally confirms that, which pokes enough holes in the kite so that it can't fly with this whole "redemption" angle. Even still, this tour is an All Ages affair which seems needlessly flagrant in terms of putting him in the exact position he misused and abused to begin with. It's the "Same Logic" for all you Branders out there.

Regarding the timeline, I do get a bet of a pitch black chuckle that people assert that because his actions are older than 18 years he isn't interested in them anymore.

Nobody is arguing that he needs to be eternally exiled from society. I hope he does change and makes the positive steps to undo the harm he has done, but nobody has the right to be an entertainer and fucked up his shot
