I heard the new album is going to be them meeting in the middle between the IG sound and the blackgaze sound. And honestly, if they do it well, I think it will be their best album. I like Mombasa and I need more Mombasa.

I don't like the screams in it. Not because he's screaming but because he's using a different technique or something and his voice sounds weird.

Tbf the heavy parts in Mombasa are the least interesting parts of the song

The new technique George does on Mombasa is awesome lol. I found it jarring at first too, but grew to appreciate how different it is.

I don't dislike it I just like the softer parts in the song way more

Started listening to this in hope of some heavy riffs drenched in layered wall-of-sound and throat-amplified vocals. Two songs-in and all I got so far was this lukewarm syrupy dreampop. Shoegaze? Only if I squint. Black metal? Dead, bless its soul. Honestly, had to switch to another platform to double-check if I was really listening to the band I was expecting.
