I know they're called Cult of Luna but if they really were Wiccans would they really make music this spiritually empty and overproduced? Explain.

"you say that as if paganism inherently calls for low production values."

Exactly! Pagan music with high production value is automatically not pagan, since audio technology doesn't come from within the boundaries of the natural world.

Plus it's an aesthetical choice. Listen to Negura Bunget before and after 2008. They used to sound natural and TRVE, now they're like your typical materialistic douches who drink Coca Cola in the studio and want to sell albums... and Cult of Luna, while a formidable band, sound just like that.

I'm just disappointed in their paganism that's what I'm saying. Nothing wrong with their music out of context. Unfortunately I have to take their context into considerations because of their awesome band name.

Jesus, what an album! Could grow to be a 5 for me. I was expecting more sludge, but was suprised to see how atmospheric this was. Eternal Kingdom though seems to be focusing more on Sludge though, not as much looking foward to that one tbh...

It's not that i don't like sludge, but more in moderation as on Salvation, Oceanic or to a lesser degree on this and Panopticon. Or in the more traditional sense like HoF is good too, just the first two CoL or early and later day Neurosis just doesn't sit right with me, idk
