Vocals were definely an acquired taste for me (as have been any sort of harsh vox). I think I tried to get into mwY a couple times before I was able to really get it. Though strangely it was their debut lp that did the job, which is weird since that album is the most reliant on his particular kind of harsh vocals. But yeah now I luuuurve Aaron's voice.

I welcomed the harsh vox, it was the cleans that did me in

Foxes would probably the best place to look then (or maybe Pale Horses, which is their best imo)

A to B Life is amazing. Depending on how I’m feeling, some days it’s my favorite mwY. It’s probably my second favorite after CFUTF.

Btw, I was listening to Tortoises All the Way Down and I knew that the part from about 0:40 to 0:46 sounded eerily similar to something else I’d heard before. It took me a little bit to think of what it was but then it hit me that it sounds just like the vocal melody in Sowing Season. The Brand New song, not the author of this review lol.

I took a break from this for a long while to make the vinyl listening (whenever it’s here lol) fresh. But man, I was listening to Julia on a walk this morning and it’s only gotten better. It’s objectively a perfect song lol

I normally get super contrarian whenever 'objectively a perfect song' comes up, but Julia is so damn good I can't argue

7/29 has recently become a favorite of mine. It kicks off the album perfectly. Such energy

I still wish it started with Julia then went into 7/29

the muted screams leading into the real ones is pure bliss and it's the only way I listen to this album anymore

I really don’t like the guitar solo in Julia tbh. The rest of the song is great.

Special edition shipping in July. That's almost a year after pre-orders went live but I'll take it.
