I first listened to The Hotelier’s Home, Like NoPlace Is There on February 27, 2014, at 9:56 am. That was a Thursday morning, two days after the album came out (back when new records came out on Tuesdays). At 9:56 am, I was at 72 Rantree Fold in Basildon, Essex. It was 14F outside when I hit play. Exactly six minutes before I first heard “An Introduction to the Album”, I googled “music for brats” and then proceeded to add this to the list.

Did you see what I’ve done there Pika. I’m immensely proud of it. I think I should be staff.

I listened to this album when I was 17 because some weirdo on reddit made some confusing ass post about pitchfork saying Housebroken's metaphor was reaching too far or something and then I listened to that song rest is history. Still blows my mind this album is just a theoretical situation in which his ex gf takes her own life

not sure this is my thing but i appreciate anything that people can have such a deep and important connection to (e.g. the wonderful adam thomas review that i somehow just now read)

also i appreciate that this feels like the kind of album that wouldn't get #1 AOTD acclaim anywhere but here, which is really cool and awesome, keep sput unique

Oh man, I just remembered that I missed these guys touring this album in 2015. I saw some amazing videos of it later with the whole crowd singing Introduction to the Album up to the band... goddammit. Still hurts.
