it was not a sarcastic comment at all.....it took years for the fans who herald this record the way they do to fully accept it and actually prefer it now....perhaps the same may be in store for the younger folks.....

Listened to this for 6 years, my opinion hasn't changed and it most likely won't. Production isn't even my main complaint with this.

I'm not so sure about that. This was the very first Metallica album I ever heard, and I instantly fell in love with it. Since then, my rating has never gone below a 4.5 for this thing. So I don't think that statement necessarily applies to everyone

for me, this is their best largely in part because it never got tiresome
and brendan dude, if this was your first, you weren't used to their original sound so that makes plenty of sense
