Yeah I really dig the guitar tones on here, but something's missing from the production.

I think it's the drums, the snare sounds really organic, and the rest of the kit is kinda spongy.

The production is gr8. Better than Obzen. But obzen was a different album altogether.

I've been listening to Meshuggah a lot lately (each album at least 3 times each) and this is the only one that actually is unique song by song the whole time. Every other album has clumps of songs that are too similar. Probably going to be my only 4 for this band, but I'm hoping the other ones grow on me eventually because it is intriguing music.

I heard DEI first when I was in high school and moved rigjt on to Chaosphere after that. By that time, I was already out so I got caught up in their current stuff.

Yeah seeing this band live makes you understand the vocals and Jens in an entirely different way.

So I've heard at least a couple people say that it took them a while to get into Meshuggah. My question is, why did you continue to try in get into them if you didn't like them at first? Wouldn't you have too much music to listen to if you tried to like every band you listened to? Or was that at a time when you were young and thus didn't have much else to listen to on your CD player?
