@art: i mean sometimes i do, but it's a lot easier to do that if the music has no relation lyrically to real life stuff. for ex, Mike Fuentes was never a primary songwriter for Pierce the Veil so I don't feel like I need to connect something like "Caraphernelia" to his allegations.
but, look at the lyrics to Limousine here, or Me vs Maradona vs Elvis off Deja, how am i not supposed to think about what Jesse's done when it's being alluded to in the music? when the music is this personal, it leaves a sour taste - this is why i un-5'd Satori, because the same thing happened there. it'd be one thing if i was a huge fan pre 2017 but i wasn't

ya i think i just don't enjoy this enough to get past that tbh i mean i casually enjoyed jesus and degausser so those tracks would probably get thrown back into rotation ev now and again, i can acknowledge it's well written but i don't want to let myself get too invested

Over time I've found it's much easier to just separate the art from the artist except in rare cases like R Kelly where the music is about his nastiness. The internet loves to move the goalposts of what's acceptable and what's not until their favs are under fire. I think you just need to figure what works for you (generally speaking not towards anyone in this thread)
