I remember how in awe I felt when I heard each single from Kodama prior to release, and I am not feeling that with these new tracks. Part of that might have been the fact that Shelter had come out prior to Kodama, and it wasn't exactly clear that Alcest would return to the earlier style with screams again, bringing in quite a bit of excitement. With that being said though, these tracks are still awesome, it'll definitely be a solid follow-up record from the sound of it, and more of the same is definitely not a negative at all, given how stunning Kodama is.

Sorry, Scheumke, this is great and all, but I definitely prefer Ecailles over this. So dang pretty.

I think I'm in Team Ecailles too. Although this, as you can see, comes damn near close for me.

I'm not too sure about the new track, Sapphire. A bit tame.

It's ok. I quite like the parts at 2:06 and 3:49. Still below their standards though.

Btw, a bit of translation from french :

1. Les jardins de minuit = The midnight gardens

4. L'Île des Morts = Island of the dead

5. Le Miroir = The mirror

Ecailles all the way, but it’s close and both are two of the best albums of the decade.

i would say overall i do like them, i guess just not as much as everyone else

tbf i don't think they've released a bad album yet (new one isn't shaping to be promising but we'll see)

i just dont think they've released a classic album either
