I think Kendrick on that song is entertaining and playful and the instrumental is really well played, the drums especially

Institutionalized, Hood Politics, and Mortal Man are the best. Mortal Man is one of my favorite tracks Kendrick has done.

That's the thing though, I'm pretty sure most people in this thread aren't praising it because they think it's unique and innovative, more because they simply think it's really, really good, which is what renders everything Lamb's said completely pointless.

I've hardly seen anyone in this thread who's like "I've 5'd/4.5'd this because it's one of the most unique and innovative hip-hop albums ever".

you dont even get my argument

its not solely that this album isn't unique, its that it doesn't really excel at anything, and is bad in many places that all of you just ignore.

The personality of the artist is obnoxious, egotistic, narcistic and pathetically immature, whats worse is this album is supposed to be about him maturing, the message is asinine and a dorky attempt to fit in, the beats are good but they feel soulless, like some record execs just threw money at some good producers, his rhyming is just bad (better on this album, but still), his flow is gimicky and his vocabulary is sloppy and his story telling is as verbose as can be.

that might all sound a little harsh, but im talking about kendrick vs artists who actually deserve 4.5 and 5 ratings, not kendrick vs average scrub rappers today

thats why i think its annoying you all think this is so groundbreaking and extraordinary when tons of modern underground artists and mainstream 90s artists come up with better shit off the top of their head.

and as for me caring about anyone listening to this, please. i only post here because this site's hip hop section is completely dead except for this overrated album.

also i find it funny pots calls my taste in hip hop 'whack' and he doesn't know how to spell wack. you suckaaaaaaaa
