You aren't doing it right.

There's nothing wrong with just playing one drum at a time. It can be fun to play complex parts, but to tell
yourself to just stick to a single drum at a time-- it makes your playing a lot more dynamic, and it takes a bit of
thinking.

And I have to keep my drumming skills fresh for my band's sake!
