Rush too to an extent, it's like a melting pot of subtle 70's prog. But it does it well I guess and a hard 3.5 for me. But they got rid of 80% of what made them so great :/

The refreshing thing about Heritage is that it's 70's influenced prog but it doesn't sound like one particular band/album which automatically puts it above most throwback prog.

Also Opeth's current direction is far more interesting than it would be if they were to continue with their already established sound. Who seriously wants to hear them do the same thing over and over again?

Agreed, but I personally found the dynamics of Opeth to be the most interesting thing about them.

Obviously it's not literally the same thing over and over but I found the constantly repeated formula got a bit monotonous after a while.
