‘Releasing this on a big label like Epic could've been a disaster’

Always thought this album was one of the best examples of an indie band signing to a major and killing it. Using an upped budget to their advantage while still remaining true to themselves and genuinely weird. MM at their peak imo.

Well to be completely fair, Gravity Rides Everything off this was in a nissan commercial back in the day.

Edit: Oh wait, was that what you were referring to when you said "car commercials?" Shit.

Move to a major label, you sell out. No way around it.

Album's still good though.

Yes, Good News is a good album. It’s just not a great one.

As far as later MM rankings goes, it’s WWD > GN > Strangers.

WWD has the advantage of having Spitting Venom on it, one of their best songs. Strangers is still a decent 3.5, even though I’d say it’s their worst movie.

That riff midway through "Doin' the Cockroach" is the best thing ever.

I feel like at this point we mutually circle around these threads waiting for the other to invoke the presence of the other

I heard the call to action and I answered it swiftly.

Every thread needs a Tom and Jerry dynamic, it's the lifeblood of internet discourse.

Or something.

They’re still good, just not as good. Strangers is pretty solid and underrated.

LCW and This is a Long Drive are probably top 20 albums for me, LCW May even be in the top 10.
