Let Down I really dont care for at all.

The peak of Radiohead’s creativity right here
|
| |
I'm gonna be hip and say OK computer is their creative peak.
The only unusual parts here are just Autechre and krautrock. Occasionally they combine to form something interesting.
They really captured the whole cold modern depersonalisation feeling they were going for on OK Computer much better here so that is something going for it. Likely because of the IDM influence.

So Ghandhi, are you saying their creative powers aren't showing so much in their musical/compositional side, but in their lyrical/thematic side?
|
| |
I am saying the creative powers are hit and miss for me. Not due to lack of enjoyment , but the lack of a bold new style. There are only moments here that can achieve the synthesis of styles I had in mind when hearing about this album.
I don't judge the majority of albums based on lyrics.( If that was the case I would be harsher on most albums.)
If I'm intrigued by lyrics its because an album has a concept (Something which will only get rarer as the craze of concept albums has been done to death)
Most of the time rock bands have nothing interesting to say.

Ah, that explains it. I'm with you btw, prefer OKC to this, but I was interested in your reason for that bold statement! It's not a claim you hear often I'd say.

Sometimes. (I am recalling this album from memory but I spent a lot of time thinking about it)

@Chuck: That is true too. The mix of styles is their own. Plus it's always always always commendable when a band tries something else and pulls it off as well as they did with this. Undisputable feat.

OKC has the slight edge for me, but Kid A actually used to be my favorite of the two.
