The Unforgiven is the first “real” guitar solo I learned
|

My first solo was probably Hash Pipe or Island In The Sun by Weezer lmao so excuse me
|
| |
lmao if I were to include those kinda solos mine was definitely Smells Like Teen Spirit or Come As You Are or something

"Again, considering Pantera was still a straight up hair metal band when Metallica was touring Justice, and were just releasing Cowboys from Hell (which while popular, wasn't anywhere near the seismic shift Vulgar Display was) while Metallica was making this album... I have a very hard time believing Metallica was trying to ride Pantera's wave with tracks like Sad But True. "
Not saying it's true, i personally don't hear pantera in this but you need to think about the fact that bands tour all the time and test their new stuff live. They don't just create new songs for albums ;) The sound constantly evolves.

Love how they go from having a desirable snare sound in metal with this album to the most undesirable on St. Anger with the same producer

I liked the snare in St. Anger. :P

It's not the producer, it's the drum plzyer that's problematic lol
