I can't decide if these pop songs would work outside of the context of the wild mixing and production tactics that define this record, but I will say that the lyrics are surprisingly strong on their own - quite fantastic given that the unintelligibility of the vocals make them relatively unnecessary. - S

It's never clicked for me and I've had a copy of the thing for over 15yrs.
Last year (or was it the year before?) London Calling went from a 2.5 to a 5 after owning the thing for the same period so I went back to this and it does nothing.

That was one of my most overrated records but it's fucking amazing. Death or Glory just hit hard and I appreciated the album for what it was.
This is an album that will always represent a blow out and Alan McGee E'd off his tits throwing money at it.
