"I was more curious where did you spot the misogyny in the first place. No offense but these lyrics don’t exactly scream 'I resent all women' to me."

Like, everywhere lol, it's pretty blatant. If you don't think lyrics like "your beauty is no more so why don't you just fuck yourself you stupid fucking whore" are an indicator of someone's attitudes toward women, idk what to tell you. I don't think Oli at the time was thinking in his head "I hate all women," that's not really how misogyny works most of the time. 2000s deathcore was misogynistic as shit, I think most people who have listened to the genre know that. It's old news.

"Like 90% of deathcore is 'u fukkin sluttttt' lyrics"

Looool tis true.

I just can’t really get into deathcore in general, not for that reason specifically. I just like at least a little melody mixed in with my heavy. Also why I prefer post hardcore to hardcore.

Thought this genre sucked when I was 13 and this came out .. and I still do. Sounds like a fookin racket mate.

All Shall Perish, JFAC, and Cattle Decap were the other 10% I guess.

I was shocked when I actually read the lyrics. "Fisted and Forgotten" probably should've clued me in

Yeah the all-pervasive misogyny was one of the worst parts of deathcore. It makes it much less surprising to me now when modern deathcore acts get insta-cancelled. It's kinda baked into the DNA a little bit, even though on the whole it seems like bands have thankfully moved away from writing entire albums about their unacknowledged mommy issues.

And I say this as someone who was in several local deathcore bands back in the day and listened to all that stuff too.

I may have preferred a fuller modern production sound from the instruments with proper blast beats, but otherwise it rips.

i tried skimming both versions and i think the original sounds better? It's got a little dirt on it that feels like they at least heard Suffocation before.

Drums aren't as bad as expected reading the comments here, however I wish this just had the same instrument production as Posthuman Nex Gen tbh. It has this weird metallic simmering sound to the cymbals and guitars I can't not notice

This might be the best of the metalcore 2007ish era trend of remixing your shitty album currently and re-releasing it .

Production and mix sound great but the songs still suck… thier two follow ups to this were vastly superior

Dehumanized is top ten songs of year tho so shows they still have it

This sounds disgusting, it did make me go back and listen to the original for the first time in 15years though and it kinda holds up

I didn't mean they recorded the OG "live at the same time" like Suicide Silence the cleansing, i meant the OG they went into a studio and recorded in a consistent environment and mic'd a real amp and cab, and each part of the drum kit and drum performance was live (i'm sure they sample replaced for consistency but there was an underlying live performance, not total programmed drums). i think it's worth the extra effort but it's $$$ I get it, but tube amps and real drum performance are just more musical and organic IMO

I like Buster's production style but I certainly don't love it, he did good here but it would be interesting to hear this is in another modern metal producer's hands. btw band sounds great live but the drums also sound hilarious on blast beats just like here, those triggers have a ridiculous snare sound
