I can agree that I like the two before it a bit better but this is still quality material. One of my personal favorite Cedric moments is on this; Viscera Eyes, particularly the end.

It's funny because the only mars Volta album I never got full on obsessed with is bedlam. I'll dedicate tonight to bedlam I guess.

I'm still not tired of Bedlam. I've probably heard the album 150 times. It's just a straight beast front to back. Seeing some of the songs live really helped too.

What always turns me off with Bedlam is just how abrupt it is. "Okay popping in the cd, closing the tray, grabbing my beer going to sit dow..HAVEEEEEEEE YOU SEEN THE LIVING!??!?!?" And it's like that through the whole album too, its just nonstop no breaks. I love TMV when they are moody and atmospheric. Also, I just get the feeling that bedlam hasn't "clicked" for me yet just like this one actually took a good while to click, whereas De loussed and Frances I loved immediately. Octahedron took about two or three listens. Amputechture probably ten or so before I really appreciated it.

Well I hope it clicks for you. I've been a fan since Frances came out and Frances and De-Loused literally changed my life. Never thought any of their other albums could even come close to touching them, but year after year, Bedlam continues to stun me. It might end up being tied with the two classics as my favorite someday tbh.

Bedlam is the only Volta album i haven't heard, the length always puts me off and I know I should listen to it so I'll definitely listen to it after some Rush. I've had Bedlam in my iTunes for 5 months hehe.
