Black Future is the only good Vektor album tbh.

I'd say Vektor is a lot catchier/more accessible, but this is overall just more bonkers and is almost like some alternate universe version that went super heavy on the LSD.

Black Future always slides off me when I give it a chance. I enjoy it a lot when listening, but don't remember anything. I only have it above Outer Isolation because that album is mixed bad and sometimes hurts my ears.

But finally starting to listen to this, me likey jazzy jams. I don't recall that kind of stuff in the debut.

Coolest album cover from any band in a long ass time. Perfectly fits the album's sound

Ok, after several spins I have to say that this is close to a 5.

There's a lot to unpack here and you need to listen to this in between some other stuff.

But it's not a 5, this is close to a 4.7/4.8 but our overlords won't allow us to vote decimals, so fuck them.

It's really good, but an hour 20 is just too long to be doing more or less the same brand of retro-tinged prog death for the entire duration.

It started to feel like a slog by about half way through Hexagonal Eyes. Not because the quality dipped, but because after a point, even the most buttery of lobsters starts to get a bit of a chore.

Wouldn't argue with anyone that feels that way tbh. Album is so damn cohesive though.

It certainly is, I think that's to it's detriment after a point. You could pick a random point in this album and press play and there are very few parts that are standout enough for me to be able to tell you what track it's from.

I just needed like a touch more variation from them to justify the length. Doesn't make it bad though, still great, but could be better. I'd probably put it closer to a 4 if the decimals allowed it.

Tbh your 3.8 feels pretty spot on to me.

Man this was such a surprise to me how engaging this album is from start to finish. I listened to Blood Incantations album from last year like a hundred times and I was stoked to find more music that approaches that quality and cosmic identity
