Also, You’re Welcome by ADTR deserves 0.5. There’s another one too I listened to recently that’s close but I can’t recall it

Brokencyde and Blood on the dance floor deserve it.
Oh and I just remembered the one I heard recently is Wage War. Atrocity

oh god man. I usually think that if something is at bare minimum competently put together, even if it’s just the worst alt metal cliches from the last 20 years, but that Wage War record might be the exception. I listened to it once and I don’t think there was literally a single riff, chorus, hell even a single vocal melody on that thing that’s worth a shit.
The Wage War one really might be a .5 man, that shit sucks so hard. Blood on the Dance Floor and Brokencyde aren’t even worth our time but Wage War was actually respected by a huge chunk of the metalcore bros, I saw them open for ETID once and was throughly unimpressed even then, but if they were playing their new material then I don’t think they could even have inspired any movement or excitement from even the dumbest crowd.
Fuck that record fucking sucks.

I listened to a couple songs off it and goddamn why did I do that to myself
It’s literally the perfect culmination of every dogshit idea that comes from mainstream metalcore. I guess the albums saving grace is that it’s only 30 mins but even that just feels like a chore. A fucking 30 minute album shouldn’t feel like a chore.

Haven't had a full single-session listen just yet, but have had a ritual to do so for every BTBAM release since TGM. So far I'm not sure how I feel about this

Also colors is barely any better than this. You guys just liked it because you were 14 and now you have nostalgia goggles for it

I prefer Misdirect to Colors these days

Can confirm I still love Colors. Pretty confident in my rating too.
I LOVE how bizarre and chaotic they can be. It’s one of the things that makes them BTBAM. They’re incredibly tight so they can make erratic movements sound freeform when everything is really a giant, complex Rube Goldberg machine of moving parts. A lot of bands do proggy space metal. Quite a few have *tried* to be “artistically silly” like BTBAM to various degrees of success, but nobody really matches this level of simultaneously hilarious and majestic composition.
Alright everybody call me a dildo and copypasta this into soundoffs for the next 6 months

There's a lot of jam band tendencies on here in some of the songs which I can't lie I have a bit of a soft spot for. Of course there's the inherent cheese/cringe of modern BTBAM and it's too long but I found this a lot more enjoyable than I expected. Seems a lot less indulgent than most of their recent stuff

Not sure how any fan of the band can’t appreciate the tandem of Psychomanteum and Slow Paranoia. Absent Thereafter might as well be included in there as well. With that, I totally get anyone not digging the first 2 songs here.

misdirect is the only thing I like that they did
