also celebrity therapist had a ton of dillinger influence but i feel like they've all but shed that since the EP. i don't hear any of that on this album.
they still have crazy math stuff here but its way more in a frontierer / car bomb vein than in the past (but like, mallcore-ified). way more 000 chugs and whammy pedal jerking here and is much more "new school" by comparison.

Okay with the way everyone is salivating over this I gotta check this out. Only heard bits and pieces of them before so this should be sweet.

Damn, I'm fucking sick of these kinds of breakdowns and riffs with the whammy stomps/Hans Zimmer stings and these kinds of vocals (though I dug the death growls and wish they showed up more). This whole LP is actually really strongly put together and clearly indicative of talent and thought but it's ultimately not my bag. It's just way too Hot Topic. And the lyrics are truly tongue in cheek nonsense. One of those albums where I'll give them my most "objective" 3.5 and never listen to the whole thing again. But I'll probably come back for Body Horror for Birds on occasion. The closing section in the Country Song in Reverse is pretty beautiful though.

great review for great album
First para:
- 'wackier' should be 'wacky' I believe given there's a 'more' earlier in the sentence
- might be a word/phrase missing between 'rather' and 'argument'
good shit homie

Only 4 tracks in and holy fuck is the only thing that comes to mind. I had AOTY hype for this and it's already exceeding my expectations.

@Jizz & Shadow: You're telling me that the cleans specifically don't sound like like Jonny Craig era DGD AT ALL? lol I call bullshit.

Vocals remind me of a Puciato-Palumbo hybrid tbh. He really stepped his game up

For a guy who has listened to DBM religiously i can confirm it sounds nothing like Jonny Craig. That comparison has never crossed my mind in the years listening to this band. Maybe more genre wise perhaps but im not sure

"Lemon is very Dillinger"
hmmm i feel like lemon goes way further into full-on pop territory than dillinger ever did. black bubblegum and oouitk t/t are far closer to a standard dillinger track than they are to lemon.

I get the feeling that calling Lemon very Dillinger may have been sarcasm
