this is some nice shit, will have to czech this band out more thoroughly. the dress is some top notch shit, especially the jazzy parts, very interesting how well it fit despite being out of left field. love it when seemingly disparate genres seem to mesh well together

After a couple of songs to warm up those vocals - her singing was transformative - literally went straight to the parts that other vocals cannot reach.

man, spun some of their other stuff, this is no doubt their opus. absolutely love the marriage of various styles and the 80s guitar hero magic. but what really gets to me is how classy this is, no cheese to be found, HUGE kudos to the lead singer especially for that. can't remember if i ever head this classy of a female vocalist in metal, no fucking drama, no cringe, and she isn't restraining herself, she just does it like a genuine fucking rockstar, love it.

Holy fucj these guys are good. They remind me of a better version of Fleshwater with a slight dash of Kalandra. Super creative and unpredictable. Ppl thinking Lacuna Coil is the best female fronted band out of Italy would be in for a big surprise

Especially considering the risk they took with those howls in the last track. In isolation I'm sure it felt strange to perform, but they are so well produced.

What a perfectly specific categorization haha - LC deserve their own level of praise, Cristina Scabbia is an awesome vocalist, but I agree that Messa has blown them out of the water lately

LC peaked on their first three albums never to reach those heights again. And yeah Scabbia can sing, but that's not much good if she don't have good material to work with

okay we are back

yeah, I remember why this was kinda cool, kinda underwhelming creatively compared to Close (probably just less in my realm of desires stylistically) but the break has served it well. The production is erm 'bright' (I think that's what I mean) but mostly works well outside of the jazzy bit in The Dress (cool song tho). Lass has some biiiiiig soulful vocal moments so that's nice. The closer goes harder than I remember.
