I loved everything up to their last album but I've given up on CO now, I'm assuming they'll break up soon.

so Manson was found guilty of raping multiple women?
|
| |
Multiple women have accused him of abuse and rape, investigations are currently ongoing and new evidence is being considered as of last month. If that's someone you want to go to bat for then be my guest.
|
| |
don't know enough about the cases, people just seem to be accusing him with a degree of certainty so i thought i'd ask
|
| |
I mean, most of the people that knew him best were basically like “oh yeah, he’s definitely guilty”.

Apparently he and Puff Daddy have some beef so that was probably for the best.
|
| |
Not to mention the whole "rape room" thing. It's a whole mess
|
| |
wow that’s fucking disappointing, always liked Reba
|

I don't blame her for getting the bag. She shouldn't have to reject a more lucrative job just because Manson sucks.

Is as sick as the secrets within MM’s best song of all time? It has to be right?

Wes Borland straight up said "yeah he's guilty" when the allegations first dropped.
"but no one is talking about this album, no major publications are reviewing it and it likely won't chart well"
Happened to be in Cental London on Friday and checked the flagship HMV store in Oxford Street to get the new Body Count album - while they hadn't got that in stock yet (despite it being release day), they had already set up an entire display for Manson.

Last I heard, one of his accusers recanted her allegations and said that Evan Rachel Wood and Manson's other accusers were pressuring woman into accusing Manson of shit. And multiple of his Ex's have stated that they never experienced abuse from Manson. Has anything changed? I mean, you definitely don't have to go to bat for the guy but people in here are talking like this shit was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Which was far from the case last I checked. This is the same Evan Rachel Wood that is best friends with Amber Heard.

“I was in the band for nine months, he’s not a great guy. Every single thing that people have said about him is fucking true. So relax about the allegations towards women, like when people say bad things about these women… fuck off they’re speaking the truth.”

"Pain is a language that was spoken to me, and now it’s my time to answer."
I've carefully avoided actually reading this review but now that its on the front page I've accidently read and reread this intro enough times that its gotten to me. You don't need the comma and the 'and' goddammit. Do one or the other, not this disjointed halt. If you want a stop sign use a period.

Oh its also the edgiest thing I've ever read but that felt auxiliary to the tilting grammar

I like to think Borland's terrible experience with Manson is why he made amends with Fred Durst and got Limp Bizkit back together. Realised Fred's douchebag persona was just an act whereas Manson was the inverse, and he'd rather be in a band with someone who's an asshole in public but a decent guy in private than someone who portrays himself as an intellectual in public but is a legitimate piece of shit off it.
|
| |
I’m torn: this is a solid effort and his best music in a while, but something about him is just cringe in 2024.
|
| |
It's so weird because if you asked everyone 20 years ago who the more likely rapist was, we all would have picked Fred Durst. Since Manson's influences were deep artsy guys like Bowie and The Cure, and that one Bowling for Columbine interview made him look like an intellectual, caring guy to many people.
|
| |
There’s so much other good music we could be listening to tbh
Idk I was never a huge fan of his, like even as a kid it always seemed like he took himself way too seriously for how edgy his whole shtick was, and yeah this record really wasn’t bad at all, but I’d rather throw my money (and time) at someone who isn’t a predator/abuser.

"The one thing I will give Manson is, at least his peak holds up better than bands like Linkin Park or My Chemical Romance. But he also hasn't released anything of value since 2000."
I know this was three pages ago but saying Manson's back catalogue holds up better than MCR's is a fucking insane statement to make when Bullets and Three Cheers are both stone-cold 5s. hell, since we're talking about Durst, I'd even say Limp Bizkit's old stuff holds up better, RMV aside.
