I blast Pantera and 5FDP when I drive so nearby motorists know I'm insecure in my masculinity

the self-titled and Das Tor are alright in the car. Winterkaelte's guitars end up as a mushy center-panned mess, and Im Wald loses the layering.

This one works better, but yesterday I REALLY noticed the lazy drum programming on Aussteig for the first time, where the splashes and hi-hat cut off awkwardly during fills.

I'm warming to the school of thought that says programmed drums should intentionally sound fake. It's impossible to make them sound entirely human, so why not lean into it. Although I get that not everyone is or has access to a drummer.

i love the thumpy kick sound on Das Tor much more compared to this. Should use that drum production more often.

First time jammin Paysage

Idk if it makes sense but it reminds me of Ruins of Beverast but with a more riff centered approach, maybe a little meatier even

yeah for sure, this album in particular has big Beverast vibes. the long double-kick runs, oppressive choirs, and oscillating guitar riffs would sound at home on Rain Upon the Impure. also helps that the production is more "eerie" than outright claustrophobic.

Damn this is way more akin to dark space when it comes to heavy af riffs than I was expecting.
