I checked it out the same day I made that post. Made it to the 3rd song and noped the fuck out. Shit was booboo. Holy fuck. Seems like the instrumental songwriting in ETID was carried by the rest of the band, seemingly with no input from him, because there was no quality control in sight. It sounded like a 2000s genericore greatest hits comp, just 20 years too late and from the same shit band. Utterly without character.

It’s legit fucking awful, it could at least be somewhat saved with some top shelf lyricism but good fucking god it’s literally worse than the instrumentals. Production is complete ass, there’s absolutely zero weight to any of the tracks, even the “heavy” songs sound fucking toothless. Will isn’t my favorite producer in the scene, but credit where credit is due, he knows how to make something sound fucking heavy.
Idk man. I’ll always love Keith for the two decades of great music and some of the most fun live shows I’ve ever been to, but Many Eyes just ain’t it. If Better Lovers is “we have every time I die at home” then I don’t even know what to call Many Eyes. divorced dad rock octanecore bullshit

Keith’s self righteous bullshit really rubs me the wrong way too. You’re sober now, great for you man, legit really happy for him, it’s fucking rough etc etc… but god what a tragic fall off by literally every other metric.
Literally had a record release show in my city but I decided to sit it out and play video games instead. I’m dumbfounded by that.

That'll be cool. Also, to add, Will Putney is one of the most generic producers out there for metalcore. The recordings could be rawer and have more life.

'Made it to the 3rd song and noped the fuck out'
This was my experience too lol, was shocked at how awful it was.

Not interested in Many Eyes at all cause Keith is a weirdo, but beyond sad that this does absolutely nothing for me. ETID is probably my most listened to band of all time, I loved Greg-TDEP as well. But somehow combining them doesn't work for me one bit.

I think the album is good enough for me to enjoy whenever I decide to play it, but it's not something that comes to mind often to replay. Live though they're awesome, seen them twice now - once at their first show of a tour in Asheville and another at the pre-show for Blissmass

“somehow combining them doesn't work for me one bit.”
In this boat too sadly. Like it’s OK but I don’t love it

Man, why the fuck didn't they include "The Flowering" and "Two Alive Amongst the Dead" on this bad boy? I'd totally forgotten about those tracks up until now and they rip.

Those two are on the deluxe version of the EP that’s only on vinyl. Idk why they decided to add them on to that EP instead of just leaving them for the record
maybe I’ll just try to work the EP and those two into this and see if I can make it sound smooth

I love all these musicians. I personally need to listen.

you hated the EP didn’t you? Really doubt you’ll dig this tbh, personally think the EP is better

If I had to get rid of two tracks to add them, it would probably be "Your Misplaced Self" and "Everything Was Put Here For Me". The thrashier tracks don't do as much for me.
