I don’t understand the stark contrast in reception this album has been receiving compared to the hate Light We Made had when it was released..

LYM was divisive bc of the sound change following TTWTWM
this one has the advantage of coming after a long hiatus, I’d say this one is stronger overall too imo

its even crazier that so many bands like citizen, ceremony and turnover had even BIGGER shifts in their sound but people still to this day shit on Light We Made which wasnt even that big of a departure in sound, Tiny Raindrop is one of my favorite songs of all time.

As a newer fan Light We Made tops this for sure. Midnight Zone and Call it Losing Touch are phenomenal

Too many stinkers on LWM to top this imo. For a Walk and Postcard are easily two of the worst songs of their entire discog

I feel like LWM really broke their momentum. I remember seeing them live not long after and it just wasn't the same with those songs. Everything they put out after was great though. This one was a return to form in terms of LPs - a more mature sound but plenty of the hooks that made them one of my favs in the first place. Just my opinion as a 15+ year fan now (ouch)

This is a very solid selection of tracks. They are slow burners, but they do burn.
